We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join this Calgary based North American public company.

As a Senior Financial Analyst you will provide support for financial accounting and reporting, internal controls and compliance for Canadian and U.S. entities.  This role is responsible for preparation of various financial reporting requirements, research and interpretation of accounting regulations and new changes.

The Senior Financial Analyst will provide management and oversight of the month end processes, assist and review quarter end financial statement and MD&A preparation and preparation and/or review of other financial reports.

The successful candidate will play a critical role by providing research and ensuring compliance for key decisions and disclosure for accounting and regulatory matters:

• Canadian GAAP


• US GAAP


• IFRS

This position will work closely with the Controller and other members of the finance team.    

Experience required:

• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA)


• Minimum 5 years related experience in financial accounting and reporting with a strong knowledge of Canadian and US GAAP.


• Strong knowledge of IFRS


• Ability to independently research various accounting and industry information sources to accurately interpret requirements, assess impact and develop concise and accurate summaries and proposals from the research information.


• Exceptional analytical, organizational and communications skills.


• A good knowledge of the oil and gas industry is required.
