The I&E/Hydrogen Pipeline Maintenance Technician, Edmonton, Alberta is primarily responsible for the Heartland pipeline mechanical integrity program.
This is a 24/7 operation and incumbent must be willing to work overtime as required, and willing to take 24 hour on call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
As a member of our Hydrogen Facility Maintenance team, the incumbent is also involved in the plant maintenance activities including the following:
• Responsible for the Heartland Pipeline instrumentation equipment repairs, instrument calibrations, electrical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. This will include interaction with customer representatives.
• Assist in plant instrumentation equipment repairs, instrument calibrations, electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, plant and pipeline projects and small construction activities as required.
• Respond to pipeline Alberta 1 calls and provide support as required in collaboration with the Air Products North American Pipeline support group.
• Use of SAP for the hydrogen facility maintenance recordkeeping
• Actively participate in pipeline ERP activities and day to day safety requirements for the APCL pipeline system.
• Participate in the basic safety process and share responsibility for the site’s overall safety performance.
• Ensure adequately trained back-up personnel are available for pipeline responsibilities when the Pipeline Maintenance Technician is absent.
• Must be willing to participate in ongoing training activities identified for this position.
Physical Requirements:
• Will be exposed to high noise levels
• Will be working outdoors and exposed for long hours to different weather conditions
• Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed
• Elevated work required
• Required to operate Company supplied mobile equipment.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Must hold dual ticket Instrumentation and Electrical
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Must have strong computer skills, MS Office, Outlook. SAP skills an asset.
• Team player that is flexible
• Must be a self starter and willing to work alone at times
• Must maintain a clean driving record and maintain a valid Alberta motor vehicle operator’s license
• Must be willing to work to Air Products policies and standards of both the Local and Global Organizations
• Some requirement to travel to our US operations for training or support.
